SCEA has announced that a new "slimmer" PSP was indeed on its way to the American market. They've also announced a whopping $100 price cut on the existing 60Gb PS3. What Sony didn't announce immediately however, was the price cut concerning the 60Gb PS3 was to clear out all remaining units and that the product, in fact, will be effectively phased out just leaving the 80Gb and 30Gb PS3's out there.
On the PSP front, Sony announced that the old PSP will also be phased-out but the weird thing is, there will be no price cuts for the PSP since prices have already dropped prior to the announcement of the new PSP. They, however, will offer the older PSP version in packages that offer great value. Similar to the Daxter bundle for the PSP slim, they will offer a Daxter bundle as well for the old PSP, bundling it with the Daxter game, a 1Gb Memory Stick Duo and a video UMD as well. All this for $199.99 while the core pack will continue to sell in it's previously adjusted $169.99 price range.

- New Carousel to be erected next summer at Manhattan Park. The updated carousel will feature dolphins instead of the traditional horses and will be housed in a glass enclosure with sea creatures being projected. (Good way to turn your kids gay...the only thing missing would be the accompanying tunes of the Little Mermaid or It's Raining Men!!!)
- Children's book author surprised at ridiculous censorship requirements before children's book containing cartoonish portrayals of artisitc nudes in a gallery is released in America. (One word: "STOOOOOOOOPID"!!!)

uploading "Our Love to Admire"...

This is what I listento nowadays when it's raining outside and I feel the air just chilling around me. Really cool...definitely cool.

A new segment that will hopefully cut my daily posts to a handful. Instead of separate posts, I'll leave links to interesting things I found in the world wide web. This is done specifically to give me the option to reroute you instead of posting let's say a NSFW item...which could spell disaster for my page.

PSP news update (more pics!!!)
Apparently the folks at T3 are blessed enough to get a sample of the redesigned PSP before actual production. They have been nice enough to post lots of images online and even fill in some blanks left by Kaz Hirai's announcement yesterday.
New info:
- The infrared port has been removed. (I actually haven't used that port...EVER)
- The WiFi switch is now where the infrared port was before. (at the top near the USB slot)
- You can now charge your PSP via USB connection (GOD! FINALLY...)
- There is no longer a lock mechanism for the UMD slot. Instead of popping open when you hit the switch you now have to manually pull the cover away from the main unit. (Okay...a little scary but I'm sure it isn't as bad as it sounds...) The removal of the locking mechanism was one of the main reasons behind the slimmer design.
- Game loading was improved by allowing game data to be temporarily saved from the UMD, much like how the PS2 and PS3 works. (Remember ejecting a PS2 cd and the game still goes on for a little while longer?)
- The 64Mb memory is not usable, it's there for the "faster loading" gimmick...(sigh...)
- Upon release these PSPs will have the latest firmwares installed and gossip is circulating about an improved motherboard that makes downgrading near impossible.
P.S. Looks like they finally put a latch on the battery cover. Thank goodness! I always had trouble with the slide-y mechanism of the first one!

We all know the magic that always happens at Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3) and have come to expect the fireworks that are sure to erupt during the expo.
During Sony's E3 Press Conference, Kaz Hirai, newly appointed SCE president, announced the ongoing development of a new PSP which:
Colors and special promotional packages have been announced for North America and Japan already but still no news for the rest of the world. The only solid information released is that the new PSP will be avialable to North American consumers this coming October.

- has a more efficient battery
- has faster loading time for games
- also has the ability to output hi-quality videos (to TV?, monitor?) by pressing the display button (good for playing UMDs on the big screen: both games and video)

Okay...so Ferrari IS suing a senior at the Williams team for "stealing" sensitive technical information from the team...and said senior member has already been suspended.
Also, Christian Albers has been dropped from the Spyker team due to "financial reasons" and he is contemplating legal action against the team. Meanwhile, Christian Klien is on call for the test drives at Spa although when questioned, he says he isn't Albers' replacement...yet. The list for Albers' possible replacements is indeed long but some of the drivers HAVE shown interest and have been keen to publicly say so.
